The world championships in the ocean introduced us to a revolutionary pyramid that provides excellent hold against currents while generating very low friction during retrieval compared to classic pyramids. Eugenio Ucci modified the Brazilian and French pyramids and created a perfect blend of hold and hydrodynamics, with a long stem to ease retrieval by reducing friction, lateral grooves to stabilise flight even in strong headwinds, and a flattened profile to increase hold against lateral currents. With these features, it’s possible to use finer lines on the spool, thereby reducing friction with the lateral current.
